Hi Can i continue to use mint 9 LTS after April next year ,
i know its a silly question but i just wondered what the finer issues are,
i only use linux mint for general computing /office and save everything to another hard drive ( and to show off linux to my friends and family )
but i like mint 9 and its GUI
cheers Tony

Re: Mint 9 LTS
Yes, it won't stop working all of a sudden or anything.Hi Can i continue to use mint 9 LTS after April next year
You will stop receiving updates/upgrades though, and while you may be able to live with this on the application side, the lack of security updates is something to give serious consideration.
After a time, the Isadora repository itself will be closed (along with the Ubuntu 10.04 one), and you won't even be able to install packages via the normal method.
So you've got time, but start thinking about an upgrade path that makes you happy when the inevitable comes.

@bluemint33,
Probably a good time to shop for a new computer.
Install the latest LinuxMint LTS for the next 5 years and more.
And keep the old one running Mint 9 LTS as long as it lasts.
regards.
