Acer Aspire Oce (zg5) - touchpad issues

Hi all,
I have an old netbook (zg5) - the one with 8gb drive that originally had Linpus on it - that I wiped and put Mint XFCE on. Everything works fine except for the touchpad - I can't double-tap or drag windows etc. When I use the touchpad to go through a menu - say Libre Office - once I click the menu (such as FILE) - the menu itself opens, but I cannot click on anything.

Any solutions for this?

I have one of those.
I use a wireless mouse or a small wired mouse.
