Is it possible to force all programs to open in the centre of the screen? For example, nautilus opens in the top left corner and I have to drag it to the centre.
Been through dconf/gconf settings - nothing obvious.

Re: Open applications centre screen in cinnamon?
Hi Steve
I had been looking for this solution as well in Cinnamon or Shell (for a long time)..
Open in Center is quite necessary with a large monitor. Something I really missed.
Clem would do well to add this feature to Cinnamon.
Never found a solution.
Went back to XFCE, and am happier there. Forgot how customizable it really was (with some digging around). Add Compiz and many more options.
Good luck finding a fix.

I too would like this option. If anyone has a suggestion it would be most appreciated.
Re: Open applications centre screen in cinnamon?
Not for Cinnamon, but a workaround for Gnome Shell.
-------------------
Just found a shell extension 'Put Windows" https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/39/put-windows/
that allows settings for a window to be centered with a keybinding.
Enable extension.
Open "Gnome Shell Extensions Preferences" > Keyboard Shortcuts> Move to center/maximized>click on 'modify'>select keybinding of your choice.
Window does not "open centered" but, moves there with keystroke. Toggles between centered/maximized.
Still hoping to find how to 'open window centered' by default.....
