mintTools?

Post by jbaerbock »

I was thinking maybe we could make a control panel to house all the mint items. We could call it mintTools or mintToolBox and when opened it would present an elegant GUI housing all the minttools. It would just be a nice centered place to use them from. Although I realize our current method works fine too.

They are in the control center in the gnome version, but it could be a nice gimmick

Yup well people seem to like how PCLOS has their own tools control center separate from the normal DE Control Panel, so just a thought.

They also all start with "mint" so you can just type that in the menu and see all the mint tools together.

I have also raised this issue earlier.
It will certainly add to the "Mintyness".

It would, but again.. is it relevant to the user where tools come from? I much prefer to see tools sorted depending on what they're made for. I was even contemplating the idea of using proper descriptions instead of mintNames (for instance "Update Manager" instead of "mintUpdate").

No keep the mint name, them new users know the tools are special to mint and not just some part of Gnome.

I take pleasure in saying the word "chicken" at random, unexpected times, and observing, peoples' reactions (usually being funny). Also, chicken is one of the staple meats of the world, and is healthier than beef. Chickens also produce eggs, which are an important protein source for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. there is no major religion that bans the eating of chicken, there is a fast food chain based solely around chicken, and ,frankly, they are, in my opinion, extremely cute :D

So it only seems natural to write "From elegance came chicken!"
