Update problem

Hi guys tried to run the update manager but keep getting these error messages any help much appreciated.

Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/jcubic/jcubicp ... ce/Sources 404 Not Found
Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/jcubic/jcubicp ... 4/Packages 404 Not Found
Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/jcubic/jcubicp ... 6/Packages 404 Not Found
Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/nikount/orta-d ... ce/Sources 404 Not Found
Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/nikount/orta-d ... 4/Packages 404 Not Found
Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/nikount/orta-d ... 6/Packages 404 Not Found
Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

That repository does not have "precise" branch yet. From what I see its last update was Jan 2012, and Oneric is the latest version to be supported.

I would open up your software sources and either modify or disable this for now. If you need help with this let me know

There are two ways which this can be accomplished depending on how/who put the repo into the system

in /etc/apt/sources.list is the generic file where repositories are. You can comment out the line or delete the line(s) which have the repo in question.

The second way is to go into the software manager, click edit -> software sources. Most likely the repo in question will be under "Other Software" tab. Highlight the repo to change and either edit or remove it

according to the error you posted you should uncheck the ones with "nikount" and "jcubic" in the title

Your error tells you exactly which ones are giving you the problems :D
