Hello, how're you?
Please, I was wondering: how can I add wallpapers into Linux Mint 12 Lxde (if possible)?
I've tried to copy and paste them into \usr\share\backgrounds, but I get an error message when I do, and the wallpaper doesn't appear in the folder.
Thank you very much in advance.
Sincerely,
UUUnicorn

Open a terminal and enter:
Or right-click desktop > Desktop Preferences
Will open Desktop Preferences gui -
Click folder icon to right of "Wallpaper"
Navigate to your wallpaper, click it, click Open.
from /home/yourusername/Pictures
click Tools > Open current folder as root .... another window opens
From new window - click on picture, click Edit > copy
type /usr/share/backgrounds/linuxmint-lisa in location bar, press enter
Edit > Paste
close superuser window.

The file browser, Pcmanfm, under Tools in its taskbar, offers the user the immediate opportunity to reopen that directory as root. This allows you to edit any of the files in the same way as you would do to files in your home directory, that is, files that you own. In other words, you have all the privileges of reading, writing, moving, coping, editing, dragging, deleting, etc - the things that you are accustomed to doing if you are coming from Windows. See http://lxlinux.com/introduction.html for additional information and tips.I've tried to copy and paste them into \usr\share\backgrounds, but I get an error message when I do, and the wallpaper doesn't appear in the folder.
