Update continuously fails
I'm on a cable connection, but my download for mint repositories is less than a 56k modem and then it gives me

Any ideas?

Re: Download Updates Fails
the servers are overloaded and timing out (as you can see in your output) it's not safe to update in such conditions.
Re: Download Updates Fails
Do we have any idea how many users of LMDE there are?
Do the servers burn down on typical LM (11, 12, 13, etc) version updates?
Are there less mirrors for LMDE than for Vanilla Mint?

Re: Download Updates Fails
I'm getting the following:
Failed to fetch http://www.debian-multimedia.org/dists/ ... 6/Packages 404 Not Found
Failed to fetch http://www.debian-multimedia.org/dists/ ... 6/Packages 404 Not Found
Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
Are the "404 Not Found" errors also due to overloaded servers?

Re: Download Updates Fails
Here we go:
# inxi -r
Repos: Active apt sources in file: /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ debian main upstream import
deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest testing main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/ testing/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org testing main non-free

BTW, I tried to update (to install the latest release of mint-update) and the updater kept hanging on me, so I've had to kill it.
