Fullscreen problem

Hi,
I have a very annoying problem with linux mint, both the KDE & Gnome versions...
When I switch to fullscreen mode - in Virtual box for example - the task bar ( the lower panel) remains shown, so that I can't get the benefits of the fullscreen view...
Also when I play 'wesnoth' the game keeps switching between the fullscreen & windowed modes...
I used both Ubuntu & Kubuntu and I didn't have these problems, that's why I think it's due to some 'minty' features
While this still happens...some games like tux racer works just right...
I don't play much...but I do use virtual box a lot...so any advice ?

I advice yo to choose another signature - removed
There has been reports of this error in the forum - see if a search brings something up

This could be because we set the screen resolution to 1024x768 for some parts.
It could also be or combined with your virtual box video ram size, ie not enough.
or a conflict of your system resolution and vm resolution.

I did..but it didn't yield something useful..same problem is in there:

I'm not quiet sure,but I think the virtual machine works just good, but Mint lower panel keeping shown, hides a part of the the display...
Besides, some other fullscreen games/applications like 'Battle for wesnoth'...
I think it's about the lower panel of mint as this didn't happen on bare Ubuntu or Kubuntu..
By the way, I'm using Mint 4.0 KDE...

I think I saw a solution, but that was in gnome....
The signature was not indecent in any way, but could lead to misunderstandings
I thought I'd mention that for all other viewers of this topic
