Hello,
I'm totally new to Linux and will be setting up a partition for it on my new computer I am building (and I have decided on Mint). I have heard conflicting advice regarding the decision to choose either the GTX 670/80 or Radeon 7970. Some say Nvidia is terribly incompatible (cue Linus' "rainbows you" to Nvidia), but the majority say ATI is even worse. For the long term, even if I couldn't use the card right away, which one would you choose?
Thanks in advance.

For me, I prefer nVidia. Their drivers seem to work better than ATI's. I've read many reports that even when ATI drivers install correctly, they still don't work that well.
