How can I change the icons in Mint 13?

Menu > Preferences > Cinnamon Settings > Themes > Other settings
Click Icon theme, choose another icon set from the list.
If you wish to download new icons, download file, extract the folder (right-click file > Extract here).
Go to your home folder, click View > Show Hidden Files
If .icons folder not already there, create it (note the dot)
Copy the extracted icon folder to /home/yourusername/.icons
Open Cinnamon Settings > Themes > Other settings again, you should be able to choose new icons from the list.
