[SOLVED] Cairo Dock in a MATE Session

Post by Taffman »

Hi, I'm trying to run the Ciaro Dock in Mint 12 using a MATE session. It works byt has an ugly black background. Using the GNOME session it seems to work ok. I'm told i need to install Compiz to enable transparancy for the Cairo Dock, but I am unable to ge this to work in MATE. If anyone out there has managed to get Cairo Dock working sucessfully with a MATE session, I'd love to know how?

In Cairo Dock go to: configuration -> advanced configuration -> all -> System -> Composite -> And mark option "emulation..."
Now save, close and restart Cairo or logout and login.
It should work fine.
Option names may be a little different, because I use Polish system :)
