[Solved] No audio/sound whatsoever

Postby tintin on Tue Oct 30, 2012 10:35 am

Recently I installed Maya in my PC, and to my surprise there was no audio. I tryed every trick documented in many forums, including Mint and Ubuntu, but nothing worked. I have a NVIDIA card and intel sound:

aplay -l

**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ..etc, etc... Analog]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 1: ..etc, etc... Digital]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 7: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 8: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 9: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

SOLUTION:
Finally I did: sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
and added the line: options snd-hda-intel model=generic

Now I have sound. Hope this could help anyone.
