Evolution doesnt start

Postby JanAcc on Tue Oct 30, 2012 1:27 pm

Hi there,

Evolution won't start. When I start it in a terminal I get the following output:
Code: Select all
$ evolution

(evolution:8226): Gdk-WARNING **: The program 'evolution' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)'.
  (Details: serial 144 error_code 1 request_code 136 minor_code 19)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment
   variable to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

I heard that the latest SID update will crash evolution. Is this what is causing the issue here? I'm new to LMDE so I can't tell if evolution has ever worked for me... What can I do?

Thanks in advance!
