Format HDD during install

Post by feinar »

HI
How can I choose to format HDD partition, when installing Linux to an existing Windows partition? Does Linux overwrite windows automaticly? Or does it install it as an dualBoot system?

Thanx

You get a choice during install.
My tip is to read the excellent user guide!
Read more about it here: http://www.linuxmint.com/forum/viewtopi ... =17&t=9053, or download it - in english - here: ftp://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/linuxmint.com/4.0/LinuxMint-4.0-User-Guide_v1.pdf

Thanks...
I've read that... OK!
But, next question: Why is'nt there anything about installing/removing drivers in that User Guide?
I would really, really like to know: HOW DO I INSTALL DRIVERS TO MY HARDWARE IN LINUX?

And don't ask me if I'm sure it is'nt allready working, because its NOT!

Have never installed a Linux distro where everything worked "out of the box".

It cannot find network controller nor network device!!!

Damn!! Drivers are available for linux on the vendors support sites!

D-Link PCMCIA DWL-630 card.... On a Omnibook 900... Worked fine with Win2000!!!!!!!!

Is there a "device manager" in linux?
