I also got this today and installed Office 2012 and Notepad++ and they seem to be working fine.
However, one minor issue. I can't see the installed applications on the Mint Menu.Just as described here: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... 01#p643401

Never got that far as Solidworks failed to install, but I half expected that anyway.

Yeah... I can just create new items for each application under Office but I just find it weird that it is there on the Main Menu editor but does not show on the Mint Menu.

Running Cinnamon 1.6.4, only installed Office 2003 and they are showing up in the menu.
