Re: Usb hard drive not detected mint debian
Can you test it on any other machine
Make sure it's not dirty if it'd been used in windows

Re: Usb hard drive not detected mint debian
I tired it on my laptop that has the latest ubuntu on it and I have the same problem.
Re: Usb hard drive not detected mint debian
It is probably a faulty usb interface on your Iomega, then. Is it usb-powered only or does it have its own power-supply ?
Re: Usb hard drive not detected mint debian
Depending how much of a fix you are in
You could pull it apart and plug the HD directly in to a Motherboard, that is if you have a Desktop PD or access to one.

Re: Usb hard drive not detected mint debian
Yes, it might be the embedded drive itself also. But considering your error messages it is more probably an issue with the usb interface electronics on the Iomega. Taking the usb interface out of the equation would tell you which part is failing.
Re: Usb hard drive not detected mint debian
I took the drive and hooked it to the mobo and no luck.So I took another drive from another pc I have and put it in the usb case,it booted right up.So I'm guessing my iomega drive is dead, rip pos.
Re: Usb hard drive not detected mint debian
I solved this it was a bad usb cable. When in doubt always change cables I guess.
