[SOLVED]Error Updating: Some index files failed to download.

Post by fragamer »

Hello everyone,
I'm using Linux Mint Maya 13 with XFCE 4desktop for a few days and now I'm having troubles.
Everytime I do

Code: Select all

$ sudo apt-get update
I get this:
W: Falhou obter http://ppa.launchpad.net/elegant-gnome/ ... ce/Sources 404 Not Found

W: Falhou obter http://ppa.launchpad.net/elegant-gnome/ ... 6/Packages 404 Not Found

W: Falhou obter http://ppa.launchpad.net/jcubic/jcubicp ... ce/Sources 404 Not Found

W: Falhou obter http://ppa.launchpad.net/jcubic/jcubicp ... 6/Packages 404 Not Found

W: Falhou obter http://ppa.launchpad.net/nikount/orta-d ... ce/Sources 404 Not Found

W: Falhou obter http://ppa.launchpad.net/nikount/orta-d ... 6/Packages 404 Not Found

W: Falhou obter http://ppa.launchpad.net/unity-team/hud ... ce/Sources 404 Not Found

W: Falhou obter http://ppa.launchpad.net/unity-team/hud ... 6/Packages 404 Not Found

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.]
I've searched a lot of solutions and nothing worked.
I would appreciate some help, and sorry if there's something wrong with the post, I'm new here :)

Thanks a lot!

Hello, fragamer.

Just for a try, open Synaptic and de-activate the following Launchpad PPAs:
+ elegant-gnome/ppa binary and sources
+ jcubicppa binary and sources
+ orta-desktop binary and sources
+ unity-team binary and sources

Then try again running

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
I wonder whether any of the 4 PPAs is of any use for systems running Mint 13 with Xfce?

Cheers,
Karl

Yes, that solved my problem!!
I think that was to install some theme, maybe I was installing the wrong stuff to XFCE.

Thanks a lot, karlchen
