Desktop Screenshots Thread - November 2012
A little late(admins and moderators feel free to move this to a newer thread, but here are my customizations. Linux Mint 13 x64 Cinnamon edition running on my desktop, using it as my primary OS because my MSDNAA expired and my hard drive bit the dust , so I have this on a spare 500GB HDD. Since I come from a Windows origin, I was aiming for a result of; if Windows XP and Mac OSX had a child, and ended up using Cinnamon combined with AWN and screenlets.
Environment: Cinnamon
Additions: AWN + Screenlets
Cinnamon Theme: Mictlan
GTK+ and Window Theme: Adwaita
Icon Theme: Mint X
Pretty much bone stock other than a few minor changes, but I'm kind of new at being able to customize the entire desktop experience

@dgilluly
The image is very small. Is there a chance you could make it bigger?

REMINDER: from the Forum Staff:
Please continue to use clickable-thumbnails linking to the larger image -- to help those with slower connections.
Many image-hosting sites will automatically generate 'clickable-thumbnails' for you, as well.
An example of the BBC code needed is below.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The forum now has an option to resize images to 320x240 pixels using "rimg" tags.
This gives a large enough image to display clearly but doesn't cause a problem for those with slow connections
You can insert a pair of such tags with the "rimg" button, which sits rightmost on the row of buttons above the text field where you type your message.
Upload your image to an image hosting site then paste the URL of the "Direct" or "Download Image" link between the rimg tags.
This posts on the forum a 320x240 pixel clickable image which links to your original-sized image.

Thank you - for your continued support of LinuxMint.

Mint 13 upgraded to the quantal/nadia repos:
I have to say that even though this is unsupported and pre-RC, it is very nice. Both the icon theme (now bimsebasse's mint-xtra) and the Mint X theme have been updated, although the Mint X theme only slightly. I really like that the icon theme is now much better looking. It also runs a lot faster than Ubuntu 12.10.

Chris, a couple of questions...
1) is the gtk theme included with the upgrade or did you get it somewhere else?
2) same thing for the wallpaper, it looks nice!
I'm going to do this to my setup tomorrow morning. I'll post a screeny when done.
Looks good!

Linux Mint 13 Maya Xfce 64 bit
GTK theme: Zukitwo Dark
Icons: AwOken
Font: Analecta

I love Xfce. It's so simple and with a few minor tweaks and can look very beautiful and even with AWN, Synapse and Xfwm running FULL compositing it's still blazing fast

Re: Desktop Screenshots Thread - November 2012
Thanks . Everything there installed by default - that's the Mint-X theme and the wallpaper is there by default. I haven't figured out how to get the internet working yet, so I haven't been able to download any themes or wallpapers.twodogs wrote:WOW! Yeah, that's a good looking desktop. I should do more with Xfce - I run it on my old PC but my main laptop runs Mint 13 Cinnamon.neruson1981 wrote:Linux Mint 13 Maya Xfce 64 bit

Funny thing, I seem to remember having put a lot of effort in it but the only icon change I really notice is Firefox, VLC and MintInstall. Maybe I should have just uploaded those three iconszerozero wrote:mint-x icon theme saw a great improvement (tks bimsebasse )
Particularly nice to see the new VLC icon, the old one was sorta drab: http://talk.maemo.org/attachment.php?at ... 1281643299

bimsebasse, you are a busy man! You make a lot of cool stuff for Linux Mint and your work is very much appreciated.
