HP LaserJet 1100 wont print allthough recognized

Hi guys,

i have an HP LaserJet 1100 that i'm trying to use via a parallel to usb adapter. I just plugged it in and my system directly recognized it:
lpstat -t gives:

Does anyone have an idea, what I can do? Also tried to use
hp-setup -i in order to configure the printer but without any results, since it is not recognized this way.

hm, i just deleted the printer in the printer settings and now i cannot get my computer to recognize it again. before it had been recognized as soon as i plugged it in :/
i already read this tutorial:

and would like to try

The options used here include:
-p laserjetV - the name of the new printer
-m laserjet.ppd - the specification of the Postscript Printer Description file so CUPS knows how to speak to the printer
-v parallel - specifies the device to be used for the printer
-D "HP LaserJet V" - a textual description of the printer
-L "Office 502" - a textual description of the location of the printer

but i do not know how to specify the device to be used for the printer :/

is it possible that the parallel to usb-adapter is there listed somewhere so that i can use it somehow in the comment lpadmin?

okay, what i did right now is erase all the printers from the printers gui and voila, no printer is any longer recognized :/
so first of all, i tried to see if i could find the adapter, which i did with

but in /dev i find the folder /dev/usb where there is lp0 in it as soon as the adapter is plugged in. so what i did now, is that i used cups-web interface to set up the printer (but since i cannot find the ppd-file for my printer i select the printer manually) and give the adress usb://dev/usb/lp0
but that doesn't lead to ANY results. i don't know what else to do :/
does anybody have some helpfull suggestions?

check my post on laser scanner. i fixed the printer and scanner. there is a new plugin for hp.

thanks for your advice, i reinstalled hplip and hplib-gui and followed the instructions given in the posted link. but the printer is not recognized either, i also tried to adress it manually with several variations.
what i also found out is, that lsusb gives me this, when only the adapter is plugged in:

and the last entry is not present as soon as i connect to printer to the parallel adapter and replug the whole thing into the usb port. also lpinfo -v gives me this, when the printer is UNPLUGGED?!:
