Hi,

How can I improve font rendering with LM 13 Xfce?

I attached you a screenshot that clearly show how blurry fonts are by default.

Most typography-conscious Linux users which I know of like the look achieved by using the Infinality Freetype patches : http://www.infinality.net/blog/infinali ... e-patches/

There aren't pre-built packages for Debian distros to the best of my knowledge, but I've found this PPA which does make some steps in the right direction : https://launchpad.net/~no1wantdthisname/+archive/ppa

Best feature of Infinality imo is that font rendering is fully configurable by hand if you don't like some of the author's choices.

Install the freely available Windows fonts, which may make websites render more like you are used to. From the terminal run the following command, and when presented with the EULA use the Tab key to switch between buttons and the Enter key to accept your choice. As always with the lawyered ones, you have to accept the EULA to install. Downloading and installing can take a while, so have patience.

Also check Menu > Settings > Appearance > Fonts, and enable anti-aliasing. Set hinting to what you prefer and sub pixel order to RGB.
