I am trying to install an 11b WLAN pci adapter MW302P
on an hp a6114x pc.
the adapter light is on. the device is present in currently installed devices column. I installed the (i hope proper inf) still nothing present on the next scree to set up the wifi?
any where to go from here?

oops the hardware shows not present but the light on the device is on and green.
is the card bad or is it another issue?

The forum was not working well yesterday so I didn't manage to respond by then.
There is indeed no native Linux driver for this device, you were right to add the .inf file in Windows Wireless Drivers. Please install the ndiswrapper-dkms package from Software Manager, then it should work.
If not please post the output of inxi -N and sudo mintwifi.
