How to properly install Win 7 and Linux Mint 13.

Post by glore2002 »

Hello!

I know this is a topic that may appear in many different sites but I don't know if any of the approaches really work.

So, please, if someone could tell me the steps I should follow to install linux mint on a machine already has win 7 to be able to dual boot, I will really appreciate it.

My HD (500Gb) has 150Gb for win C:, 120Gb for another ntfs partition and the rest is unlocatted space (aprox. 160Gb) waiting for linux mint 13 to be there.

I need to know partition to create, install options to choose and steps to follow to make this work.

Thanks in advance,
Glore2002.-

Use the alongside option and chose unalocated space - fill in some questions and you'll have a dual boot install.

Down load Mint for free here, or http;//distrowatch.com.
Then burn the down load to dvd, or usb thumb drive.
Change your bios to boot off the usb drive, or dvd.
Turn off computer install live usb, or dvd. turn on computer.
The live boot should ask you to test Mint or install.
