Losing Wireless Connection? network-manager?

Postby Degs In UK on Fri Nov 16, 2012 2:32 pm

Here's what's happening:-

Well I've definately narrowed it down to losing the wireless connection when the lid is closed.
Using just the Menu/Suspend option on restart re-invokes the wireless connection, but whenever the lid is closed I lose all wireless connection and it does not reappear in the Network/Wireless window in fact the window shows only the hardware address and nothing else. This is really bugging me!!!!!!

What is going on in the operating system????????????????????????????????

Running Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon 64bit Intel 3rd gen Ivybridge et al.
In PCI Devices
The Network Controller is Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 (rev c4)

Have looked at everything I know here on the machine and also lots of previous posts just can't understand what's happening? What process is occurring to modify network-manager settings Any ideas please?

If you persevere and look right down at the bottom of this thread syslog reports

Rather than invoking init scripts through /etc/init.d, use the service(8)
utility, e.g. service smbd reload

Since the script you are attempting to invoke has been converted to an
Upstart job, you may also use the reload(8) utility, e.g. reload smbd

This is a copy of the system log and it identifies the problem at the end? I have looked at the launchpad bug reference 191889 but I don't see the relevance?
