How do Install Gedit version 3 in mint 14?
I like version 3 much more than version 2. Is there an easy way to install it?

Re: How do Install Gedit version 3 in mint 14?
I just did it. Here's what I did:
First I grabbed http://launchpadlibrarian.net/122031959 ... u1_all.deb and installed it. Then I grabbed http://pkgs.org/ubuntu-12.10/ubuntu-upd ... /download/ and installed it. Gedit needs gedit-common. It'll squawk if gedit-common isn't installed, and won't install Gedit.
During the installation of both, mention is made of older versions available. You can disregard this and continue with the installation. I used GDebi Package Installer to do it.
Hope that helps.

Re: How do Install Gedit version 3 in mint 14?
@coolpup69ca: Thank you very much. This is exactly what I needed. I had been stumped attempting to install GEdit from the official GEdit site.
A note to others who are going through the same thing: I had originally installed GEdit from the Software Manager without noticing how old it was. In order to install gedit-common, as coolpup69ca describes, I used the Synaptic Package Manager to remove the previous GEdit files. I suppose I could have used the Software Manager but sometimes it's nice to see more details.
