Need urgent help with installing wireless driver

Postby puggy1221 on Sat Nov 17, 2012 9:55 am

Hi all,

Just installed Linux mint on my spare laptop to see what all the fuss is about, not having a great time why make it so difficult to install drivers :?

Anyway, if someone could help me I will be eternally gratefull as I'm not having the best time getting my wireless driver to install.

See below for details

lspci -nnk | grep -iA2 net
09:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5752 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express [14e4:1600] (rev 02)
Subsystem: Dell Latitude D620 [1028:01c2]
Kernel driver in use: tg3
--
0c:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN [14e4:4311] (rev 01)
Subsystem: Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card [1028:0007]
Kernel driver in use: b43-pci-bridge

Can someone link me to the correct file to download as I have tried around 8 different windows and linux drivers and I am struggling and may just re-install XP.

Thanks in advance.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

This may help, and was reported in the comments to work with your specific model WLAN card also. https://nfolamp.wordpress.com/2011/10/1 ... 1-working/
