How to Repair Physical Bad Sectors in linux HELP

Post by S-MeC »

hi can any one help me to repair physical bad sectors
because Physical bad sectors on a hard drive are areas of the drive that will not hold data. These bad sectors are not actually repairable, but hard drives can be forced to avoid using the bad sectors by software that keeps track of which locations contain the bad sectors.
so any one has any cammand any informations of any software i can use it to avoide these bad sectors and thanks

The drive utility in Linux will give you a bad sector count and the system will not use these areas of the drive. If you have bad sectors it is just a matter of time until the drive fails. Time to back up your data and pricing a new hard drive.

Unless the progression is stopped, physically reallocated sectors is a sign of an ongoing process of disks death (slow or fast). Until total failure. Physical damage can't be fixed.
