No need to have many languages on your computer, if you only know one or two....
I've always removed several hundred megabytes of unnecessary 'locales' (language packs) after a new installation.
There are two ways.
1. Bleach bit. (Its in the repos)
Option below lets you choose which to keep and which to purge permanently.

2. There is also a command line program (script)also in the repos.
That let you choose (during its installation) which language packs (locales) to purge.
Its "localepurge"
After installing run

sudo localepurge
