What is the matter with Netrunner-OS?

Post by midas »

Does anyone knows what is going on with Netrunner-OS? The homepage seems to be down for quite a while:

http://www.netrunner-os.com/

It is important...because Netrunner-OS is (like LinuxMint) participating in Blue Systems too...

Very strange this. Even though, I should say that the latest version of Netrunner really did not like. I prefer Linux Mint KDE or Kubuntu, both are much better than Netrunner. I hope this should not complicate to Linux Mint KDE. Greetings.-

Regrettably, Netrunner was discontinued. At least, that's what implies Distrowatch (http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=netrunner). Hopefully this will not affect the development of Linux Mint KDE, Linux Mint KDE hopefully keep departing. Another loss for the Linux, Mandriva was not enough, it seems that Netrunner follows the same road. Greetings.-

That's sad. It was a nice distro, I thought. The developer seemed to take care with it. I too liked the first release better somehow, but I didn't think the second was bad.

Edit: There is a note from Starbuck on Facebook that Netrunner is moving.

Ok, on softpedia.com I found links for
Netrunner 4.2.1 (torrent) 32-bit
[torrent1] [1.60 GB]
Netrunner 4.2.1 (torrent) 64-bit
[torrent2] [1.30 GB]
they are both linked to the old netrunner-os.com site which is gone.

And then there is
Netrunner 12.12 Beta (ISO) 32-bit
which is linked to a netrunnerlinux.com site which is only active for the download

Notice

Netrunner was not discontinued.

The project went through a server migration and is currently experiencing DNS issues. We're expecting to see netrunner-os.com back online this Saturday.

On behalf of Clemens (aka Starbuck) I would like to apologize to all Netrunner users for the downtime. Rest assured though, the project is still very much active and this hosting problem is only temporary.

Thank you.
