Help--Toshiba Laptop install HANG!

Post by xwin78 »

Ok I convinced my big Bro to try mint on his laptop, but I get and x11 error time I try to boot the live disk.

I had him try it in safe graphics mode and this is the error I get:

this display server has been shut down 6 times in the last 90 seconds
it is likely that something bad is going on
waiting foe 2 minutes before trying again on display :0.

hardware list :

P4 2.0 ghz
512 DDR
Nvidia geForce 4 460GO VGA

Thanks for the Help

You might try the trouble shotting listed at this link: http://www.linuxmint.com/wiki/index.php ... ur_Live_CD

It helped me boot/install on a newer HP laptop.

Best of luck,
James
