I have been a Linux user (mostly Lubuntu) for several years. Then I purchased a new(er) laptop which had a fresh Windows 7 install on it, and I thought I would give Windows a try as my only operating system. That resolution lasted about two weeks...
Tried Ubuntu 12.10, and it did not work well on my hardware (Dell laptop with AMD A8 processor). First I tried the Mint 13 MATE, which worked perfectly; then this morning I saw the new Cinnamon, and I just had to upgrade (complete wipe / reinstall). Nice to have a stylish Linux distro that isn't all gimmicky out of the box. Very happy so far. Thanks to everyone for keeping Mint going and all that. I hope to remain a user for many years.
