Multiple USB controllers on laptop not operating

Postby rdab100 on Mon Nov 19, 2012 8:51 am

Have an Acer 5553G laptop runs Mint 13 fine.... one major annoyance is only one usb port works I cannot get the other USB ports or the SD card reader to work.

lspci shows all three controllers but lsusb only shows devices connected to only one controller (usb port).

The one that works is the one on left side next to ethernet for those that know the laptop.

Anyone got any ideas?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Also tried with Fedora and normal Ubuntu... same thing.

Windows sees all the USB ports fine.

Ok totally unrelated (as in I didn't do it to fix) but I ran an apt-get update/upgrade (Linux Mint 13) and the USB ports are now functional :D
