Running Mint 13 and have my HP laptop hooked up to my Toshiba tv with HDMI. Video output works fine but mint doesnt seem to recognize the fact that my HDMI is plugged in. I have ATI drivers.
Was wondering if anyone could give me any guidance.

Re: Linux Mint 13 not recognizing HDMI sound
I have my Netbook, with LMDE (Debian-testing), connected to the TV via HDMI cable.
Besides, using the HDMI cable, I needed to connect 2 seperate audio-jack cables to get stereo sound.
You might try that?
