Keyboard quirk

Post by Briand18 »

Every so often my keyboard goes crazy and reverses the caps lock so that I have to have caps lock on to type in lower case and turn it off to write in upper. A closedown and restart solves the problem, but I was wondering if there's any way I can fix the problem without rebooting? It only happens intermittently, certainly not frequently enough to depress, but often enough to annoy !

sounds like your keyboard may be failing. or the connection may be loose
what is the keyboard on?
desktop, laptop?
but it could also be a software issue!
can you recall when it started? or if you had downloaded anything around that time frame?

It's a laptop and the same thing has happened on another laptop I have Mint 9 on. I'm not desperately bothered, as I know a reboot will clear it, just puzzled. I'm not going to risk moving from Mint 9 as 8 and 9 are the only distros I've tried where the wireless works faultlessly. 13 was a loser, alas.
