Is this what you see?
When opening the program - before you click unlock and enter password -

- Firewall before enter password.png (20.82 KiB) Viewed 240 times
This when you enter password -

- Firewall unlocked.png (22.76 KiB) Viewed 240 times
This is normal for gufw (I don't know why it is this way - it
is confusing).
Once you've done it and unless you turn it off yourself, it should then be set to on.
If unconvinced and you want to check whether the firewall is on, you can open a terminal and enter
- Code: Select all
sudo ufw status
or
- Code: Select all
sudo ufw status verbose
If it says "active" - then it's on.
If it says "inactive" - then it's off and you need to enable it.
