UX32VD: GT620M and Bumblebee

Postby Giancarlo PSK on Tue Dec 04, 2012 10:03 am

Hi everyone, I got a problem with my UX32VD and the discrete Nvidia GT620M. I'm running Linux Mint 14 with the kernel 3.7, because it is the only one that works fine with my ultrabook. I installed Bumblebee for the optimus technology, but it returns me an error. Instead, on previous kernel, it works fine (but it doesn't boot as expected, X keeps a black screen until I don't close the session. I know, it's so strange). The bumblebee's error is the following:
Code: Select all
[ 1991.372207] [ERROR]Cannot access secondary GPU - error: Could not enable discrete graphics card

[ 1991.372259] [ERROR]Aborting because fallback start is disabled.

Can anyone help me? Thanks a lot.

PS: I would also disable my nvidia card because hd4000 is really powerful and I don't need too power on Linux. Instead I would prefer a better battery save, so if you know how can I switch off it, it's good as well.
