So my GTK theme and Icons are reverting to defaults upon login on Cinnamon. I've tried reinstalling Cinnamon and all and still, nothing. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Re: GTK Themes and Icons are broken
Can you install it please.
Code: Select all
apt install mint-meta-debian-cinnamon
Re: GTK Themes and Icons are broken
That didn't do anything. So, I decided to just reinstall mint altogether and then I updated it. After the update, everything was working fine for ten minutes until I did another restart. So I restarted and BAM! same problem.killer de bug wrote:Can you install it please.

Did you restarted your computer after installing mint-meta-debian-cinnamon ? You should have it installed anyways.
Re: GTK Themes and Icons are broken
I think I have the same problem. I have a fresh install of LMDE, I have run the update (about 1200 packages, more then 900 MB).
After restart, scroll bars and icons in the windows look like in 1995.
If I sign out and choose MATE as desktop environment, everything goes fine.
Did you find any solution since your last post?

Re: GTK Themes and Icons are broken
I have what sounds like the same or a similar problem. I installed LMDE from the previous ISO version in December and everything works flawlessly. Except the themes.
If you change the theme and restart the new theme is present, but invisible. You have to find 'Cinnamon Settings' on the completely transparent menu, change back to the default theme and restart again. Then the theme works. I've reinstalled Cinnamon and the problem persists. So far, only 'Bluebird' and the default theme survive a restart. Everything else disappears. And this happens on both power up or reboots, whether the theme was installed from Synaptic or by hand.
Any help would be much appreciated. LMDE is the most mind-expandingly wonderful and stable OS I've ever used, and a trivial but nagging flaw like this is something I could really live without.
Michael.
