the easiest way is install clamtk (GUI version for clamAV ) :

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install clamtk

I am sometime installing avast but there is only version 4 for linux 32 bit only , you need to modified some file and avast update is download a whole definition update ( 80 MB files ). ClamAV is enough.

I posted this a few montjs ago explaining why anti-virus is not usefull and why it is usefull for Linux users: viewtopic.php?f=61&t=108103&p=619687#p618715.

Read this carefully and then make your choice.

If you're still interested in anti-virus, take a look here: http://linuxappfinder.com/security/anti-virus.
