Ndis nolonger configures wlan0

Postby sutton on Wed Dec 05, 2012 6:19 pm

Install 14 cinnamon to my old laptop, it requires ndidwrapper to get my bcmwl5 wirless card to work. No luck, but discovered that ndiswrapper.ko was not loading. I think this is the code to let one modprobe ndiswrapper.

One solution in ubuntu suggested that I did not need ndiswrapper. Instead in a terminal i typed:

sudo apt-get install bcm-sta-source bcm-sta-common

It worked for me. Now have a pretty, efficient and fully functional laptop. Thanks Mint folk!

Hope this helps somebody else
