Mint installation - select mirror

I installed Mint14 here in China and the downloads from the main server took forever.

Suggestion: Allow to select the best mirror early in the installation process. Would make installation much faster.

Would using synaptic to select the best mirror prior to installing make a difference? I do agree that this would be a nice option.
Running on a 4-slot toaster @ 60Hz
