Resumes willy-nilly after suspend

Running MINT 14 Cinnamon on Acer One netbook. Suspend was running fine till yesterday. Now, whether I click on suspend button or close lid (set to suspend on close lid) the machine suspends then HDD and Wifi resume and returns to lock dialogue within 20 seconds. I am not touching anything. No vibrations around that might cause the machine to wake. I've checked power and brightness settings. Only changes to machine have been automatic updates. Any ideas?

Solved in the sense that the problem has disappeared after a reboot. ???
