Intel 3945abg/Dell Inspiron 9400/Netgear HE102 802.11a

Post by rec9140 »

Are there known issues with:
ipw3945: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945 Network Connection driver for Linux, 1.2.2mp.ubuntu1

Linux Mint KDE CE DVD Edition
Dell Inspiron 9400
Netgear HE102 802.11a AP

I can get the B side to work, with some occasional failures, but trying to connect again normally solves it.

Unfortunately my main network is 802.11a using Netgear HE102's.

I can see the AP in the wireless networks under KNetworkManager, but when I attempt to connect it gets to 26% and then fails every time. Manual configuration does not work either. The wifi LED on the latptop just blinks away very fastly. Most times it requires a reboot to be able to connect to 802.11b/g AP, although sometimes it will recover and allow to connect on 802.11b/g.

syslogd output:

Any known issues with the 3945 and 802.11a and/or Netgear HE102's?

Under winsloth XsloP it connects fine. :(
