Evolution Linked into Calendar in Panel?

Hi all,

Back in the day when I used to use Ubuntu in my last job, we used Evolution for our email and diaries which linked into the panel of Ubuntu nicely (I think it was using Gnome). I'd like to use this function with MATE and my personal inbox.

I have Evolution setup so it syncs with GMail calender, which means I can see my events in Evolution, however I cannot seem to view the events from the calender in the panel. Can anyone tell me how to do this please?

For what it's worth, I've just set it up for Thunderbird too and still cannot work out how to set it so I can view my events in my panel's calendar.
