Cinnamon 2D and remote session with X2GO

Postby boekhold on Mon Dec 10, 2012 5:52 am

Hi all,

Is it possible to run a Cinnamon 2D session using a remote connection with x2go? I'm trying to start such a session by having the x2go client run "/usr/bin/gnome-session --session cinnamon2d", but it's failing.

If I try to debug this by putting the following in a shellscript on the server side:

Code: Select all
<file c2d>
#!/bin/bash
/usr/bin/gnome-session --session c2d.log > $HOME/c2d.log 2>&1

I get the following error messages:
Code: Select all
(gnome-settings-daemon:7698): power-plugin-WARNING **: Failed set DPMS mode: Could not change DPMS mode

(gnome-settings-daemon:7698): color-plugin-WARNING **: failed to get edid: unable to get EDID for output

(gnome-settings-daemon:7698): color-plugin-WARNING **: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.ColorManager.Failed: failed to obtain org.freedesktop.color-manager.create-profile auth

(cinnamon:7725): Clutter-CRITICAL **: Unable to initialize Clutter: Unable to find suitable fbconfig for the GLX context: Failed to find any compatible fbconfigs
Window manager error: Unable to initialize Clutter.

I'm not sure if those GDBus errors are important, but it seems Clutter can't initialize without hardware accelleration?
