I recently obtained some classical game music, that's encoded as chained bit-stream Ogg Vorbis, to save space. The music has many repeating patterns, and can be significantly compressed this way compared to other formats.
I tried playing the music using my default player Rhythmbox. Alas the player moves on to the next track before the end of the piece. I presume this happens when it should actually restart a repeating pattern (or something like that, I have no real grasp on the Ogg format).
I tried searching the forum for "chained bit-stream" but nothing turned up. I found one thread for 'Vorbis' but it seemed unrelated to my problem. I couldn't search for Ogg as search terms need a five character minimum length.
Is there a way to fix my problem and allow Rhythmbox to play my chained bit-stream ogg vorbis files normally?
Is there a reliable way to convert a chained bit-stream ogg vorbis to another format?
Thanks in advance,
I tried using Rhythmbox without any plug-ins. I used Vorbisgain to generate ReplayGain information for the files. Still no success.
Totem plays the files without a hitch though.
