Java Applet for Google Drive in Firefox

I'm using Mint 13 and Firefox 17.0.1.

Google Drive has a "folder upload" option for which Chrome is compatible as-is. Firefox, accoring to Google's instructions, requires a Java applet. When I try to enable the folder upload option, a dialog box opens offering the choice of either downloading Chrome or installing the applet. I selected "install applet".

I clicked on "install applet" and got a message indicating it installed successfully... but the applet didn't open and I have not found a way to activate and use it.

Anyone have any idea on how this is supposed to work or why it doesn't?

maybe you need install oracle java
the easy way is using repository option : http://www.duinsoft.nl/packages.php?t=en
