Write an SSD optimization guide?

Postby TheForumTroll on Tue Dec 18, 2012 12:06 pm

I wanted to optimize my system for running from SSD and was surprised of how much (really) bad advice is given in the articles and HOWTO's i found on Google (some from this forum even). So I'm thinking about writing down the good advice and maybe post it here, but I'm not sure if I should do it like a tutorial/guide or rather like a reference with links to other articles. Any input would be appreciated.

Here's a start: viewtopic.php?f=90&t=79503#p461796. I'd be interested in any additions you might have.

As usual, the Arch wiki provides an embarrassment of riches on the topic:
