Hey everyone!
Long time Linux user here, but new to Mint.
I've been running a different type of Linux for a very long time and now want something that is easier to setup, stable, reliable and purdy (read: pretty). So, after much review reading... here I am, ready to start!
Anyway, this distro looks pretty amazing. I look forward to learning and maybe helping (where I can) in the community.
Thanks for such a polished distribution, Mint Team®!

Re: Hey everyone!
Welcome aboard So which desktop environment did you pick that is purdy?
Oh, and you had me spooked with your location for a minute

Well, I've been a fan of Xfce for a long time now. I am just so used to it and it appeals to me visually because of its simplicity.xenopeek wrote:Welcome aboard So which desktop environment did you pick that is purdy?

Sorry to have spooked you... but I am in the bushes outside your house!
Thanks for the welcome, everyone!
Re: Hey everyone!
So I decided to give Cinnamon a go.
I am very much enjoying it. It's not bulky feeling and seems responsive enough. It's also easy on the eyes.
Sorry to bump this, but since the question was asked in this thread, I thought I'd add this to it.
Thanks again everyone!

So far, I like it. It's pretty smooth and stable, but does have some quirks (like Synaptic not being able to resolve half of the repo addresses). I am sort of comfortable with it, though, so I think I will stick around.
Re: Hey everyone!
Good day and welcome to Linux Mint,
Hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
