Hey everyone!

Post by 3.14159 »

Long time Linux user here, but new to Mint.

I've been running a different type of Linux for a very long time and now want something that is easier to setup, stable, reliable and purdy (read: pretty). So, after much review reading... here I am, ready to start!

Anyway, this distro looks pretty amazing. I look forward to learning and maybe helping (where I can) in the community.

Thanks for such a polished distribution, Mint Team®!

Well, I've been a fan of Xfce for a long time now. I am just so used to it and it appeals to me visually because of its simplicity. :)

Sorry to have spooked you... but I am in the bushes outside your house!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone!

So I decided to give Cinnamon a go.

I am very much enjoying it. It's not bulky feeling and seems responsive enough. It's also easy on the eyes. ;-)

Sorry to bump this, but since the question was asked in this thread, I thought I'd add this to it.

Thanks again everyone!

Thanks!

So far, I like it. It's pretty smooth and stable, but does have some quirks (like Synaptic not being able to resolve half of the repo addresses). I am sort of comfortable with it, though, so I think I will stick around.
