I gave up on FF, always seems to have something broke, so I am going to stick with Chrome.

Yeah, I got 11.0 d1

Update is available in tar, yum and RPM? No Deb.

I used to be able to install RPM but no longer PM shows I have RPM and YUM installed?

if you stick with chrome you'll get the newest flash (11.5.31.5 at the time of writing)
as you can see http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ and http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ 11.2 will be the last version (outside chrome) to support linux.

you can update to the last supported version (or close 11,2,202,251) installing flashplugin-nonfree from synaptic (this package will update flash to the latest supported version in linux, basically at the moment only bug fixes)

going back to the beginning prob. chrome is the easiest option

It does not seem to doing the DL and install? Do I need to interact with it some how to make it do this?

flashplugin-nonfree is already the newest version.
You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
acroread:i386 : Depends: acroread-debian-files:i386 (>= 9.4.6) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

try this

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg -i --force-overwrite /var/cache/apt/archives/acroread-debian-files_9.5.4_i386.deb
then
apt update && apt dist-upgrade
if in the end of those 2 commands the output is clean, you can try again

Code: Select all

apt install --reinstall flashplugin-nonfree
close FF, open it again and see in about:plugins the flash version you have now

I think Google does do better Linux support, where Mozilla is better with Windows, even my Thunderbird Lightning calender has a bug where the alarms wont fire. This was fixed a long time ago in the Windows version, but still not addressed in Linux. My Thunderbird work around is refresh the calender every 15 minutes.

FF has had problems more then once with updates, Chrome never seems to have problems so far?
