TF2 wont launch in steam. KDE 14 MINT

Any ideas? Team fortress wont launch properly?

i get a window as its about to load but it immediately shuts down?

I read somewhere that a fix on ubuntu 64bit was to install: libtxc_dxtn.i686

On package manager i dont see this only the i386 version which is already installed. Im not sure what the command is for getting the i686 package. Also this might not fix it. I already disabled multiple desktops and effects to no joy.


Anyone else gaming on linux care to lend a hand? I consider mint 14 KDE to be the O/S of choice after ubuntu for new migrating windows users and getting steam working properly in games is the biggest draw for many.

Even Ubuntu doesn't have i686. That is only for Fedora, Arch and other distros.
